The mission of the St. Christopher Food Pantry is to alleviate hunger by gathering and distributing food and essential supplies to individuals and families in need within our community. Guided by Christ’s call to serve the poor and vulnerable, we strive to provide not only nourishment, but also dignity, respect, and hope to every person who comes through our doors.
Our pantry is made possible through the generous support of parishioners and community partners, including Midwest Food Bank and Gleaners Food Bank, as well as organized parish food drives and occasional retail contributions. Donations include fresh, canned, packaged, refrigerated, and frozen items, which are carefully stored and organized until distribution.
The pantry operates on a client-choice model, allowing patrons to select items that best meet their household needs. Distribution takes place Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:00–10:15 a.m. at Door #21 on our campus at 5301 W. 16th Street, Speedway, IN (at West 16th Street and Biltmore Avenue).
Patrons who live in designated zip codes (46123, 46214, 46222, 46224, 46231, 46234, 46241, 46254) surrounding St. Christopher Parish may use the client choice pantry once a week. Proof of residence is all that is needed. If you know someone who could use the services of the pantry, please feel free to refer them to the pantry. God bless you!
Additional assistance is available by calling 211 or 1-866-211-9966. You can also go online to 211.org or text your zip code to 898-211. This is a free and confidential service that helps people find local resources they may need - 24/7.
If you'd like to donate to the food pantry, please bring donations to Mass and add to the bin in the usher's closet, or donate during pantry hours on Tuesday and Friday from 9-10:15am.
