Rooted in our Catholic commitment to a consistent ethic of life — from conception to natural death — the Respect for Life Ministry at St. Christopher Parish seeks to promote awareness, prayer, and action that reflect the dignity of every human person. Inspired by the Gospel and the teachings of the Church, this ministry works to share God’s love through education, advocacy, and compassionate outreach. The ministry prayerfully identifies opportunities to address life issues that may not currently be undertaken by other parish ministries, ensuring that the full spectrum of life concerns is recognized and supported within our parish community. A primary focus of the ministry is the protection of unborn life. This includes education and support related to:
- Abortion awareness and prevention
- Pregnancy support resources
- Adoption information
- Post-abortion healing
- Natural Family Planning
In addition, the Respect for Life Ministry addresses other critical life issues consistent with Catholic teaching, including:
- The dignity of life in the face of war and violence
- Opposition to the death penalty
- Awareness and prevention of human trafficking
- Nursing home visitation and outreach to honor and accompany the elderly and vulnerable
The ministry continues to explore and respond to additional compassionate life issues that uphold the sacred dignity of every person at every stage of life.
